And when I’m feeling particularlyhorny during my period, there’s nothing that gets me off quite like licking up some of my own menstrual fluid! But beyond just being physically pleasurable, tasting my own blood also makes me feel empowered.
It reminds me that my body is capable of creating new life – even if I’m not currently planning on getting pregnant myself. It also helps me connect with other women who have gone through similar experiences. When I share this intimate act with another woman (or even just think about other women doing it), I feel connected to them in a very powerful way.
Finally, there’s the nutritional aspect. While we typically think of period blood as being dirty or gross, it actually contains a surprising amount of nutrients! It’s full of iron, which is essential for preventing anemia; magnesium, which helps reduce cramps; and calcium, which promotes bone health.
So not only does tasting my own blood make me feel good physically and emotionally – it also gives me a little boost nutritionally!
